In the days of analogue, the ethereal and multi-layered outcome of multiple exposures made within a single frame was a popular technique among photographers. Today the look is alive and well in the digital realm, with camera apps and editing programs available to composite images. For Feature Shoot’s next online group show, we are looking for submissions utilizing the theme of ‘double exposure.’

Please send us your best work, film or digital, demonstrating this concept by June 15th.

The top three winners will receive a free one-year subscription to Squarespace, the intuitive website publishing platform that makes it simple for photographers to build creative and professional sites with their combo of award-winning designs, hosting, domains, and commerce. Selected photos will run on the Feature Shoot website and be promoted through our social media channels. Copyright remains with the photographer.

This contest is being judged by Austin, Texas-based photo editor, Alyssa Coppelman, who is a picture researcher for Harper’s Magazine and Oxford American, and a contributor to Feature Shoot. Her writing has also appeared on Hatje Cantz’s fotoblog and Slate’s Behold blog.

To submit, email up to five images (620 pixels wide, saved for web, under 100KB) titled with your name and the number of the image (ex: yourname_01.jpg) to submissions (at ) featureshoot (dot) com with “double exposure” in the subject line. Please include your full name, website, and image captions within the body of the email.

Squarespace is a Feature Shoot sponsor.
