In the competitive photography industry, it can be easy to lose sight of what makes your work and your voice special. No matter what level you’re at in you’re photographic journey, it’s important to keep learning, to continue to hone in on what it is you want to say and how you want to say it. The twelve-week Photography Intensive at Maine Media Workshops + College offers the perfect opportunity to do just that, to get away from the noise of everyday life and truly focus in on developing your craft, all while immersing yourself in a community of students and faculty members who will support and encourage you along the way.

Located on the dazzling coast of Rockport, Maine, this summer intensive is catered to suit your specific goals and needs. During the twelve weeks, students have the opportunity to construct a curriculum of workshops and master classes that addresses their particular areas of focus, be it Digital Photography, Fine Art Photography, Documentary and Photojournalism, Nature and Landscape Photography, or Commercial and Studio photography. In addition to offering workshops in a plethora of genres, the Photography Intensive also provides training in printmaking, from digital to traditional black and white and even alternative and historical processes. Students have the option to design a program as specific or general as they wish.

One of the greatest offerings at the Photography Intensive is one-to-one mentoring with a member of the college’s prestigious faculty. Students will partner with a mentor for four of the twelve weeks, including the first and last week. The remaining eight weeks is devoted entirely to workshops that will challenge and excite photographers of all levels, from Beginner to Intermediate to Advanced. In addition to having the time of their lives in one of the world’s most beautiful areas, students at Maine Media Workshops + College leave with a skill set that will continue to inform and improve their practice for years to come.
