Someone is in a hurry to get going! Photographer Maura McEvoy snaps a fleeing lamb as it bounds off into

the lush New Zealand countryside. While on assignment for a travel magazine, McEvoy documented the idyllic landscape and snow-capped mountains of Hurunui Valley, located on the east coast of New Zealand’s South Island.

It was among these green hills that McEvoy found farmers “docking” their lambs, a humane process by which tails are removed to prevent fatal diseases as an adult animal. The docking band is mostly painless but startling, causing the young sheep to scamper off in all directions after it is secured.

This photo and many others from McEvoy’s travels are available through Offset, a new curated collection of high-end commercial and editorial photography and illustration from award-winning artists around the world.
