In 2012 New York-based photographer Brian Pineda traveled to Nepal and had the opportunity to work with Kids of Kathmandu, a non-profit organization that utilizes photography and the arts to raise awareness about the needs of orphans. They work to raise funds for education, food, shelter, and immunizations. Pineda spent 4 days at an orphanage in Bhaktapur, snapping shots in the classroom and throughout the orphanage. He puts together a bright, slice-of-life collection of kids doing what they do best, above all circumstance—being kids.
