From Mary Cassatt to Dorothea Lange, pioneering women of the last two centuries have fought to forge a place for mothers in art and journalism. As the Cult of Domesticity has faded from view and honest and meaningful imagery of mothers have begun to take shape, the role of fathers has of course begun to shift as well. Over the last ten years alone, the number of dads who serve as their children’s primary caregiver has doubled, and now is most certainly a time to celebrate the ties that bind fathers to the children they rear. Being a dad is momentous and messy, complex and redeeming, and in honor of Father’s Day, we’re looking for your photos of fatherhood.
