Frank and Florence the Flamingos

UK-based designer Thomas Poulsom and photographer Jameson Kergozou collaborated together to create quirky portraits of LEGO birds in the series Lego Ornithology. Gardener and bird enthusiast Poulsom has been crafting his LEGO sculptures for some time and was interested to see what Kergozou’s professional take would be on his creations. Each bright, feathered fowl is brought to life with spunky names and intricate detail. Poulsom plans to build a series of birds from each continent of the world and has produced over 75 winged creatures thus far.

Poulsom’s project is currently on the LEGO initiative website CUUSOO, a place where fans can put forth ideas to be made into an official LEGO product. Poulsom’s birds need 10,000 supporters and he is currently 1,000 shy of achieving his goal. Support Poulsom’s work here.
