For Inspired Light, Montreal-based photographer Patrick Rochon collaborated with luxury carmaker Infiniti to create large-scale light paintings, or long-exposure images that transform rays of light into streaks that run like brushstrokes across the frame.

Rochon has been a light painter for years, holding affixing light blades to his body and making broad and sweeping gestures that illuminate areas of darkness. With Infiniti, he expanded his vision to include three motor vehicles, which a team of experts outfitted with 2,520 LED light lumens of various colors. The process in itself consumed four hours per car. Shooting on location in Dubai, the photographer had the help of professional drivers, who were able to maneuver the car so that the lights etched radiant patterns across the darkened roadway. Remarkably, the images were not digitally manipulated during post-processing.
