In the last decade, photography has become more accessible than ever, and with Your Art Gallery, the art buying experience has never been more democratic. Launched in May 2015, Your Art Gallery is a new kind of online gallery, designed to provide equal support and opportunities to photographers as well as those looking to grow their art collection.
Your Art Gallery featured artist Spencer Tunick, known internationally for his large-scale environmental nude installations, is one of the many photographers discovering new ways to broaden his fan base through Your Art Gallery. Tunick has photographed everywhere from the desert to the world’s metropolises, capturing anywhere from a few to tens of thousand volunteers in challenging and dynamic configurations across landscapes both natural and manmade.
Working in partnership with world-renowned Duggal Visual Solutions to make prints of unparalleled quality, Your Art Gallery understands the importance of presenting work as it is meant to be seen. Says Tunick of his inclusion in the Your Art Gallery roster; “I have worked with Duggal Visual Solutions for many years. Knowing that Your Art Gallery has partnered with Duggal, I know that it must have quality as a core mission. I’m drawn to the accessibility of Your Art Gallery and the potential to reach a wider audience including the many participants who have posed for me around the world. I like the ease of use of the site and the customization possibilities so I can control how my art is sold.”
Tunick and Your Art Gallery are proud to present unseen images from the artist’s early Reaction Zone Series, in which he staged and photographed groups of nude figures set against and interacting with the architectural backdrop of New York City. Having traveled the world and having had work commissioned by such leading institutions as Art Basel in Switzerland, Institut Cultura in Barcelona, XXV Biennial de Sao Paulo in Brazil, The Saatchi Gallery, Vienna Kunsthalle and MOCA Cleveland, Tunick now presents a series of Limited Edition signed archival pigment prints, available only through Your Art Gallery.
At Your Art Gallery, the buyer as well as the artist has a voice. The gallery works with a star-rating system to enable thousands of visitors to give feedback directly to their peers, raising the bar on the gallery’s already high standards of excellence. Potential buyers can easily navigate their library of work through keyword searches and straightforward categories to find the images that suit their aesthetic and needs. Collectors are also given a wide array of options with regards to framing and materials.
Your Art Gallery is the first of similar art galleries to offer a Gallery Plexi Mount, an elegant substitute for other framing choices. Conceived by Duggal, The Gallery Plexi Mount is a professional, clean way to display artwork without a frame. After the photographic print is mounted, its edges are beautifully finished and flame polished before being backed by a 1/8” white sintra board and a ¾” brace. In addition to this innovative mount, collectors also have the option to select images made by archival pigment Giclee printing on archival watercolor fine art papers, which will retain each print’s dimensionality and wide-ranging color scale for at least a century when shown and kept in proper environments.
Photographic prints purchased from Your Art Gallery are created using a 48-bit color processor, with the highest resolution attainable worldwide. Each 6,100 apparent dpi print is produced on top-quality archival photographic paper, available in both matte and glossy. Buyers also have the choice between Smooth (Moab Entrada) and Textured (Somerset Velvet Enhanced) fine art papers. Your Art Gallery buyers may also have their artwork printed on fine art Fredrix canvas, stretched flawlessly across a 3/4 inch wooden brace. When selecting a canvas, collectors have their pick of ten edge colors (black, white, cream, light grey, dark grey, red, blue, green, orange and purple) and handcrafted artisan frames in white, black, or wood finish, conveniently outfitted with all the required hardware. All prints are protected with either a 1/8 or 1/4 inch Plexi sheet.
Whether you’re an artist or a buyer (or both!), there has never been a better time than now to get in the game. Your Art Gallery is a community in every sense of the world, offering support to emerging and established photographers alike while producing only top-of-the-line pieces that will last for years to come.
