Bold Portraits of People Wearing Pantyhose and Nothing Else (NSFW)

Marco Scozzaro

Mirror neurons are a family of neural cells considered to be the neurological base of imitation. I used this scientific element as a starting point to reflect on how different people follow the same way of thinking. It’s a projection on personal feelings such as solitude, detachment, shyness and the urge to connect with others.—Marco Scozzaro

In his series Mirror Neurons, Brooklyn-based photographer Marco Scozzaro takes a creative moment to reflect on conformism. He began by photographing a series of nudes in front of a neutral background and had the models wear a pair of skin color tights as a metaphor for conformism. Like most of his projects, Scozzaro creates simple and beautiful images with subtle elements, allowing for different layers of interpretation. After completing the series, Scozzaro realized that this work extends its topic to a broader range of issues including identity, gender, and relationships.

No one should pose in panty hose and nothing else.

  • Jamie

I wear pantyhose without underwear as I find them very comfortable. But not by themselves.

Idk about men or women wearing pantyhose and nothing else.. unless around the house or in their back yards surrounded by a really tall fence…. but yeah, being as I’m a guy who enjoys the comfort of pantyhose myself… I’m all for it.. lol. even though my fat ass looks horrible in pantyhose alone.

  • Martin

    Just comfortable to wear….

  • Jay

As someone who enjoys the sight of a woman wearing pantyhose, this is a nice treat. Guys not on the radar.
It seems those days of it considered being fashionable are getting farther away.
I used to like those few opportunites to actually notice the ladies were sans panties.
    So VERY Sweet.
    Thanks for the portraits!

I’m going to take a series of women and men wearing thongs. The thongs will be blue, I will use a neutral background and shoot them standing on a rotating platform. It shall be called the “Moving Blue Thong Project,” brilliant!

A few of those women look sort of like dudes.

Just a series of images done based around a random idea, and then meaning added to it later to make them artsy *eyeroll*

Just fucking say you had a cool idea and wanted to photograph it, stop making artsy fartsy explanations that make no sense to back it up!

  • drftyguhijok

    Nonsense*

  • drftyguhijok

There’s only two women. And they do not look masculine at all, lol.

  • grumpy3625

    This isn’t photography.

  • lakawak

As with most of these “artists”, pretty much ANYONE who has ever taken a picture in their lives can take just as good pictures as this.

  • lakawak

If the photographer was just willing to admit “I thought it would be funny to see how many people I could get to agree to do it” then fine. But they actually tried to pass it off as some kind of art project.

  • GlobalObserver

‘Scozzaro creates simple and beautiful images with subtle elements’ …. these are not them right? ‘Issues including identity, gender and relationships’ …. I can understand ‘identity’, ‘gender’ is perfectly obvious, ‘relationships’? I think a meaningful addition to this series would be a self portrait of Mr Scozzaro – or maybe that doesn’t fit into his agenda of humiliation?

  • Alyx Davidson

I really hope they’re not all wearing the exact same pair of hose.

Interesting series. At least for a look-see.
Maybe make a single image collage of them. Possibly a special one for the center with the rest as borders. Or all equally weighted, whatever you like. Reminds me a little of some of Irving Penn’s series.
Did you try them in BW? Selective color? Perfect them pantyhose as much as you can.

Here is something I did a couple weeks ago…’Order Women Like Pizza’

    http://zonefocused.tumblr.com/image/87592272229

It was from 2 pages from an upcoming artists’ book. I had a bunch of cards and some text on one page that was facing the center image on the next page. I married them into one image for a print. Try something like that with your series. It would make a nice, little hand printed artists’ book. Inkjet printers make book printing at home a reality nowadays.
    Good luck!

  • Stan Ferns

They all look like the producers of this concept !

  • WarOnMugs

Actually yes. You see the artist took a photograph. So it’s photography. It’s complicated, I know!

  • Lichens

I can’t believe what passes anymore.

I used to enjoy Feature Shoot but lately you seem to be focused on lesser interesting, banal, even plain uninteresting and poorly conceptually developed ( and I am trying to be polite) topics: the photographer who pisses on her photos, the body of work of a bunch of people wearing pantyhose. What happened ? Perhaps it’s time to exercise some quality control, again ?

  • tanklegs

Dont worry about what u look like when u wear pantyhose. Just enjoy how they feel 2 u and everything that u like about them because they feel so wonderful on your legs. Im 39 and ive been wearing them for about 28 yrs and i always will. So wear them all that u want and enjoy it as much as you can so good luck bro!

  • Waiting4Codot™

I see no reason for this, beyond laughing at how bad people look wearing nothing but pantyhose.

  • RRH

    But WHYY?!

  • Mitar Sarovich

This is just de-sanctifying the holiness of our private bodies with some bogus art experiment, imo. There’s al lot of this junk out there too. Completely destructive …
