Belgian photographer and filmmaker Hans Vercauter captures a fitting mood in his series that follows ghost hunters. Admittedly a bit of a skeptic, Vercauter was inspired and fascinated by the deep-rooted conviction these hunters have for the paranormal. He embarked on the series by locating ghost hunters on the internet and asked them to bring him to the places where they experienced their first encounter with the other side. Vercauter visited many abandoned ruins, houses and monasteries, photographing alongside these seekers of specters.
