Brooklyn-based Amy Sussman has been photographing the Mermaid Day Parade in Coney Island, Brooklyn for many years. For the last few years, she has set up a backdrop and photographed the participants on the street. This series is ongoing and currently contains over 20 images.
Sussman is an award winning photographer and member of the New York City Press corp. She covers news and events in New York City and contributes regularly to The Associated Press, Getty Images, Corbis and The Wall Street Journal.
