Mark Sherratt started working as a photographer at a family portrait studio in a small town in England, he kinda hated that job, but did fall in love with photography. He is now an advertising and editorial photographer based in London. Of this project, Train, he writes:
‘This project came about as I was spending many hours traveling around India on trains. I was fascinated by the diverse mixture of people who were traveling with me and wanted to try and photograph them. So while I waited for a train I ran up and down the platform with my camera looking for interesting people. Some posed, some ignored me, some didn’t notice, but nobody seemed to mind. So from then on, every place we went involved a trip to the train station’.

Great project Mark, with endless potential. I love the one with the little camera-happy girl. Here are a couple of mine on this:

We shot a whole scene in our new film on these trains. Here’s a preview:

Beautiful shots, Mark. I’ve lived in India for most of my life, but never noticed train passengers and their diversity with such focus. Thanks for this, the next time I’m at the train station, I’ll be looking with your lens
