Born and educated in Paris, Michel Tcherevkoff was studying law when a holiday visit to his sister, a model in New York City, changed his career path and he decided to become an advertising photographer. Michel’s insatiable curiosity of all things artistic, fueled by and instinct to tinker, results in photographs he describes as ‘reality with a twist’.
This work was inspired by an upside down leaf Tcherevkoff spotted that reminded him of a shoe. From this idea his series, Shoe Fleur, was born. After he photographs flowers and leaves in his studio (near the Flower District in Chelsea), he uses Photoshop to arrange the elements and create the shoes. He writes,’I bought all these flowers and leaves and started to shoot. It was fun and pretty and just what I like — a total fantasy’

Botanical Stilettos stopped me in my tracks. I’ll give you the ultimate compliment, and wonder how you thought of using flower parts to create these wonderful shoes.
Wonderful series of images beautifully shot
Love your work! Definitely shows a lively mind.
Hope to see you in Baltimore.
