David Zimmerman is an American born artist working in New York City and Taos, New Mexico. David’s interest in the arts began at an early age, working primarily in sculpture and painting. His interest in photography developed in his early twenties while living and working in Europe and the Middle East. In 1984 he opened his New York studio and began a career photographing landscape, environmental and fine art projects as well as commissions for Pepsi, Mercedez-Benz, Seagram’s, American Express, Lancome and others. This work is from his ‘Gulf Coast’ series, large scale portraits of the people impacted by the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico
