Hello
i just bought a Harrison Begay piece and the back has a sticker with the following:
Venables
Fine Arts
1615 Conn. Ave
Washington D.C.
Can you tell me anything about this studio? Am interested in finding out the date of this serigraph. I can not find that Venables is still in existence.
Any clues?
Hi,
I have 3 pictures that either my grandparents, or great grandparents bought at Venables Fine Arts and Gift studio in Washington D.C., My guess is sometime between 1940 and 1960, maybe before? Just not sure. The pictures are by the Argentine artist Eleodoro Marenco, and depict the life of Argentine gauchos. I think they are prints or serigraphs, but not sure either. Wonderful muted colors in them! Would be interested in finding out more about Venables arts studio, and if it still exists, as well as, info about the Eleodoro Marenco and these pieces of art I have. Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you.
