Martin Adolfsson was born in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1981. After five years of shooting in Stockholm, Sweden he moved to New York City in 2007 to attend the Photo global/Artist in Residence program at the School of Visual Arts. He shoots portraits, features, travel and advertising for magazines and advertising agencies such as Monocle, New York Magazine, Vision, Elle, Fortune, Sony Ericsson, BMW and Porter Airlines among others. He is currently working on a book project called Suburbia gone Wild that explores the search for identity among the new upper middle class in developing countries around the world. He’s been shooting model homes in suburbs such as Bangkok, Shanghai, Bangalore, Cairo, Moscow and Johannesburg. Next stop will be Mexico City followed by Sao Paulo.
