Of his series, Nothing Just Happens, Chicago-based photographer Philip Dembinski says, ‘The photographs in this project are inspired by the narrative possibilities still images have the power to suggest. I am interested in both finding and creating scenes that evoke feelings relating to desire, beauty, conflict, and tension. Using a cinema-graphic approach, I leave the story-lines ambiguous as to what has just happened, or will happen, in each scene’.
