Jen Davis lives and works in New York City. She received her MFA from Yale University, and her BA from Columbia College Chicago. Her work is an honest and poignant look at self-image and isolation. She currently has a solo show at the Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art.

I love these pictures. They have a very classical theme, like a Vermeer painting.

lame. they’re not even composed in a pleasant manner. why is this crap in an art museum anywhere?

These are interesting, though I felt that some of these pictures (particularly of the two girls in the mirror) didn’t offer any new perspectives on body image.

I think these pictures are so realistic its freaky, i am glad they are not overly ‘composed’. They are just plain intriguing – more would be awesome! Bring up lots of emotion too. Awesome :)

I think we all expect the wrong things. What we want to see is usually not what we need to see. The pictures are good.
