David Schalliol, Chicago

by Alison Zavos on July 20, 2009 · 1 comment

David Schalliol is a photographer and a Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology at the University of Chicago. He spends much of his time on the South Side of Chicago, where he documents the dynamism of some of Chicago’s most radically changing neighborhoods. While not strictly architectural photographs, these images are often trained on the relationship buildings (and the people who use them) have with their surroundings and the processes of community change.

I have been following Davids’ work for quite a while now and am glad to see that other people notice his fine view of the neighborhoods in Chicago.
