by Alison Zavos on May 8, 2009 · 5 comments

Romanian born photographer Alin Dragulin completed a B.A. in Painting from Portland State University. These days, he spends his time between Portland and Los Angeles, specializing in creating images that convey his unique sense of visual humor. This set of photos belongs to an ongoing series documenting the changes that occur when boys enter their teens. These portraits were taken in February 2008, when they were all aged eleven. The next series will be shot in February 2010, when they will be thirteen years old.

These are lovely. Makes me wonder what my son is going to look like.

OH – these are mesmerising, I just love them, the texture, strong shadows and lighting contradicts the softness thats inside these little boys when you really look into their eyes – i have a 8 year old boy and I often try to anticipate how his features will look when he ultimately becomes man….

WOW the eyes are incredible! What a good looking bunch of boys! Very impressive.

This reminds me of the Up Series project, a documentary that films the same group of children every 7 years, so 7 up, 14 up, 21 up, 28 up, etc. Right now they are at 49.
