Erwan Frotin, Paris

by Alison Zavos on April 30, 2009 · 0 comments

Erwan Frotin’s strange and beautiful still life photographs bring contemporary vitality to the genre. He sculpts witty, oddly elegant still lifes and lights these temporary structures to perfect effect. Frotin has exhibited his work extensively in Europe and recently completed Flora Olbiensis a project about the wild flora and fauna of southern France. He has created editorial photography for French Vogue, Vogue Hommes International, Wallpaper, The New York Times Magazine, Another Man, Libération, House & Garden, Intersection, and Dazed and Confused. His advertising clients include Asprey, Hermès, Bergdorf Goodman, Louis Vuitton, Tsumori Chisato, Sketch and Adidas. He has an exhibition, Strangers, on view now through May 16, 2009 at M+B in Los Angeles.
